Joining forces to accelerate innovation and translation in dementia research
Synapsis Foundation is launching the Swiss Network for Dementia Research. This initiative is intended to connect research groups from Swiss universities, universities of applied sciences, hospitals and other organizations contributing to research into neurodegenerative diseases. The network will be outsourced to a separate association and will pursue the following goals:
Foster knowledge exchange and training
Promote collaborations between basic and clinical research
Pool resources and competencies
Increase the visibility of the research field
For new impulses in dementia research.
For a fast translation of research findings into clinical practice.
For the well-being of people with dementia and their families.
Key features to foster networking and exchange
In a first phase the activities of the Swiss Network for Dementia Research will focus on the following services:

Interactive online portal for dementia research: Information ranging from ongoing research projects to available resources and technolgies, initiatives, job offers and events will be pooled centrally and transparently. Stakeholders are invited to actively contribute content and services.

Newsletter and social media: Sharing of news and relevant information with the community.

Scientific events: Organization as well as support of workshops, meetings and conferences for the research community.

Contest – Your ideas are wanted!
We are looking for

a short, original name as a synonym for the Swiss Network for Dementia Research,
-
a logo of the network ( a sketch is sufficient)
-
a catchy slogan.
How to participate
-
Teams of at least three people can submit ideas. We welcome teams involving researchers from different departments or institutions.

Please submit your ideas via Google Forms by 31 August 2023.
How we choose the winning team

The management office together with the board of the Swiss Network for Dementia Research will select the three best ideas.

The community will be asked to vote for the preferred name, logo and slogan from the top 3 ideas and, together with the votes of the board, the winning team will be chosen.
In the very unlikely event that no suitable ideas for the name, logo and slogan of the Swiss Network for Dementia Research are submitted, the office reserves the right to develop its own proposals.
Win & Dine Out
The teams of the three best entries will receive Restaurant Choice vouchers for a joint dinner worth a total of CHF 750 to celebrate their success (redeemable in over 5’000 restaurants – visit restaurantchoice.ch). Among the other teams, we will raffle five vouchers worth CHF 50 each for a joint aperitif.
